Puppy Gus and Shmed

Mom found another old picture of me with that furry cat Shmed. As you can see I wasn't much bigger than her. I enjoyed terrorizing her even at that age. I still enjoy chasing her. I haven't figured out why she runs. She knows that when she runs I am going to chase her. As of late she has been sitting in the kitchen window when I go out in the morning. The window is just high enough that I can't reach her. Maybe she is learning....

Me and Lola as pups

Mom was going through some old pictures and I think she is trying to embarrass me. You know how moms are. Well this is me when I was a wee lad. I have to admit I was kind of an ugly pooch not really sure what mom saw in me but I sure am glad I came home with them..

This is another picture of my Canadian friend Lola Pearl. She is enjoying her Winter playing in the snow I really wish I could be there with her. I think we would have great fun playing together.

What is this

I can not really figure out what I have found here. It sure has a different smell to it. Maybe if I stick my nose in here deep enough I can figure it out. I know I look kind of funny but I really want to know what is down there. The sad thing is I never really did figure it out. It wasn't for a lack of trying...

Having fun at the lake

Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I just couldn't resist running down to the dock and running back up. I thought about going for a swim but I thought better of it. I was warm but I think more than my legs getting wet would be just to much for today. Maybe in a few weeks when the Lake starts to warm up. Come on Summer I want to go swimming....

Beautiful Day at the Lake

Look we went to the Lake. It was a beautiful day and the Lake is up. I enjoyed standing here just checking out the water. Mom thought it was too cold for me to be in there but what does she know she isn't a blue heeler. I LIKE the Water. We had lots of sunshine so we stayed for quite a while. I got to check out lots of places including playing in the water and checking out trees. he he

Still dreaming

I am still dreaming of Summer. It is another cold day in Texas. In was 19 degrees this AM when Mom went to work. She had to scrape the frost off the VW windows.
Dad had the day off for his Birthday tomorrow but it was cold. He did go to a Tot Lot by his work around noon but he didn't take me. I was quite disappointed but tomorrow is another day. Too bad Mom has to work though. I can always hope for Sunday. Maybe it will warm up so we can stay for quite awhile. But until then I will continue to show you what I am dreaming about..

Remembering a beautiful day

I was just thinking of a warm and beautiful day. The weather here has been really cold and windy lately but this picture reminds me of how warm it was this Summer. I sure hope Spring is right around the corner so I can have a fun time at the lake again. I will be able to chase the stick into the water and go swimming. Won't that be great?

Picture of the Lake

It was kind of a dreary day on Saturday when we went to the Lake but Mom took some pictures anyway. I bet when Spring comes it will be very beautiful. You can kind of see the lake through the trees. Did I remember to tell you that I like trees!!
The birds were all making lots of noise even though it was cold out there. I guess those birds don't know that it is cold.. Of course when we got close to the they all shut up.. Maybe they were hiding from me.

4 wheeler path

Hey look at all the trees down this path. Dad took mom and I to the park before we went to the Pet Store. He said it was to run some of the energy out of me. I don't think it worked to well. We sure found a beautiful path to play on though. I enjoyed marking all the trees that I got close to. I am not sure Mom was that impressed though.
It appeared to be a 4 wheeler path. I am sure Grandpa Bum would love riding his 4 wheeler down this path. It came right out on the beach.

Eurika Park

This is a picture of Eurika Park where we went on Sunday. It had a walking path that was measured off in 1/8th miles. Mom and I went by 12 of those markers. Mom said it was 1 mile and 1/2. It seemed like we walked for ever. Mom said that I wore off some of my long toe nails.
Dad went looking for stuff in the Tot lot again. He said he found a couple of Chucky Cheese tokens. I don't think those are worth a lot but Dad had a lot of fun digging..

Look at my new bone

I just thought you might enjoy seeing the new bone I got when I went to Pet Smart yesterday. It is a really tasty bone and it whitens my teeth really well. I saw that there was 3 more of these tasty bones in that bag so I had better get busy and finish this one before the others go bad.
We went for a long walk today at a new park today but I will tell you about that tomorrow....

I went to the PetSmart, Ya

Look at me I got to go to PetSmart today. Home of Smart pets like me. I saw lots of other dogs both big and small. I think I scared a little Bejon. I barked at him and he scrambled to the end of his leash. I am not sure why everyone turned and looked when I barked. I guess I have one of those deep voices that carry through the entire store. I also got to see cats behind glass. I kind of felt sorry for those poor kitties. The sign said SPCA so I guess they were waiting for new parents.
Mom and Dad bought me a new collar. Mom says a pretty blue one, you know blue for a handsome blue heeler like me. You should have seen all the colors they had. Mom was looking at a purple one but I don't think Dad thought that wasn't manly enough for me. They also got me some new bones. I really like raw hide bones...

I found another stick

Look what I found! While at the lake I found another one of those great sticks. I like to chase it but I also like to just lay and chew on it. Mom tries to take it away from me but I just run with it. I will let her know when I am done chewing on it..
Tomorrow is Saturday and I have visions of going to the lake and finding another one of these!!!

Pictures from the Lake

Just thought I would show you another picture of the Lake. As you can see it is very beautiful here. The Lake is on the rise since we have been having rain lately. Of course yesterday it was sunny and 70 degrees and now today it is 41 degrees and the wind is blowing making it feel really cold for Texas.
I am hoping that this weekend it will be back up in the 70's and we can go to the Lake again..

Mom and Dad I am ready

Hey Mom and Dad I think I have had enough. Maybe if I wait here by the truck they will get the hint that I am tired and ready to go! Mom threw the stick for me so I made sure that I brought those to the truck too. Maybe they will let me take them home with me to play with in the back yard!
Dad didn't get the hint to quickly and he left my best sticks right there by the truck. I sure hope some other dog doesn't find them before I get back there.

Just hanging out

We are having a lot of fun at the Lake. Dad is doing his digging in the dirt think and Mom and I have been walking the beach. I decided that I needed a little rest before we moved on. I found this really nice tree to just lay under and veg. Have I told you lately how much I really love the lake? As you can see I have my stick close by ready for another round of fetch.

We had a beautiful day at the Lake on Sunday and I thought you might like to see it. The sun was shinning and we had about 60 degree weather. The ducks were swimming and there even was some boats out. Dad didn't have much luck metal detecting but Mom and I had lots of fun with a stick. I think that maybe even Mom was tired by the end of our time there.

Tot Lot

We went to a place that Dad calls a "Tot Lot" yesterday. They had swings and slides and other climbing things. I enjoyed laying under the slide shaking the frisbee I found at the park. Dad was not to impressed though when I would sling all the wood chips at him. By the time it was time to go I had that "mini" frisbee all tore up into pieces.
Dad would like to go back there again someday when it isn't quite so cold. 40 degrees with a strong wind was not Mom's idea of great park going weather. I really didn't see any problem with it. I have a nice warm coat..

Canadian Friends

Look, there are other blue heelers like me that play in the snow. This is Lola Pearl and Mickey they live in Canada. In Canada they actually have snow that lasts for awhile. It looks so beautiful there. Lola is a blue heeler puppy that Mom's friend rescued. As you can see she also has a lot of energy like me. I sure wish that place called Canada was closer so I could go visit her. Maybe we could play in the snow together. Thanks Lola for sending me this great picture. Keep those pictures coming so we can see Lola growing up.

Snow in Texas

Look we got snow in Texas again. It sure was pretty this Am. Of course now it is afternoon and all the snow has gone away. That is to be expected in Texas.
Mom went to work but she said it was quite the ride. They shut the highway down to for 45 minutes and Mom just sat there. They decided they needed to sand the bridge. She finally arrived about an hour later than normal..

Snow in Texas

Look, you can't see it very well but it snowed today. When Mom came home it was like a blizzard out there. I got it all over me. I didn't roll in it I guess I really wasn't sure what it was.
It has stopped now but it sure was pretty while it lasted. We can hope for more during the night and maybe Mom and Dad can stay home and play in it with me tomorrow...

Look I am a pointer

Look at me I am a pointer. Mom thought I was being really silly pointing at something. I was just fooling trying to mess with her. I was just thinking of what I could do in the woods with all those trees and birds. Chase the birds and you know what dogs do best when around trees!!
Mom let me run free and then she would hide on me. I really get concerned when I can't see Mom so I come running looking for her.

Checking things out

We went to the Lake and I was busy checking out the boat dock. There are so many things to see at the Lake. The boat dock is now open for boats. There were a few boats at the Lake but it was pretty cold for many to show up.
The ducks were on the Lake and again I saw a big bird. Mom tried to get a picture of him but I was to tempted and chased him off before the could even get her camera out.

Resting after a busy day at the Lake

I had so much fun at the lake I had to take a break. I really like running and playing but I do manage to tire out after an extended amount of running and playing. The sun was so beautiful so I just thought I would bask in it. Mom found me another stick as you can see and I don't let it get to far out of my reach.

We went to the Lake

Look at this! We had a beautiful day at the Lake yesterday. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze but that didn't bother me. I got to run and run and run. I also made sure that every shrub, tree, and rock knew who had been there.
As you can see the dock that I used to jump off of is now in the water. Maybe this summer I can jump right off into the Lake. I did splish splash through the water yesterday, there was some of those strange looking flying creatures out there and I needed to see if I could catch them or at lease disturb their lazy day swim.

Waiting Patiently

I am just waiting here to see when Dad comes home. We have a ritual, when Dad gets home I get my super. I sure hope he comes homes soon I am getting really hungry.
Maybe this weekend will be nice and we can go to the Lake again. It's Thursday so it won't be long now....

Chewing on Dad

Look at what I found to chew on. Dad always thinks he is going to lay down and take a nap but he sticks that arm out and it is so tempting. I just can't resist the urge to chew on it. It makes Dad upset but I always win!! Maybe someday Dad will figure out that when he gets home it is my time not his.... I love you Dad...

Can we go to the Lake now?

Hey Mom, can we go to the Lake now? I sure would like to go. I just want to ride in the truck and run in that big field there by the Lake. Can we, can we go? I think I will stand here until you decide we can go!!!

Peeping Gus

I just wanted you to see what my favorite spot is when I go out in the backyard. This is me seeing if my neighbor friends are out in their backyard. Today they were not there. When they are I like to run up and down the fence barking. Mom says I should be more social!!! Dad calls me peeping Gus!

Beautiful Day for a nap

It looks really nice outside but it is cold and the wind is blowing. The backyard is still like a swamp so I don't think we will make it to the lake today. As you can see I decided to soak up some rays and take a nap..

Dreaming of a beautiful day

Well it is another yucky day in Texas. We had the snow and ice all week and now we have the rain. I don't know when I will get back to the Lake. I think the high is 40 degrees today and we have already hit that. The rain continues with no end in sight. My backyard is just a swamp and I really don't like getting my feet dirty so I stay on the patio!!
I am hoping that maybe tomorrow it will be nice and I can get back to my stump in the woods...

I still can't figure this out

I just don't know what this is. It tastes like water but it has a very funny consistency. It covered up the nice grass but when mom got home it was all gone. You tell me, where did it go??

Snow in Texas

I don't know what this stuff is but I sure had fun rolling in it. Mom says it's snow. Although it is really cold I didn't mind, I have a nice warm coat.

Maybe if I stay really still I can just blend right in like a chameleon! I sure hope we get some more of this stuff so I can check it out again, Oh ya this is Texas it isn't supposed to snow here.

Look what I found

As you can see the last time I was at the Lake I found my old golf ball. I sure had fun chasing it around. I do get A.D.D. sometime and I leave it behind but I always notice when Mom is trying to pick it up on me. I quickly retrieve it. He he
She looks so funny trying to get it away from me. I sure hope we can find it again the next time we are at the Lake....

MeMaw's Kitties

MeMaw sent me a picture of her kitties Gretchen and Loki. She thought maybe sometime I could come and visit them. I think I would really like to play with them but she also told me they had those terrible Ginsu knives also. Still it sure would be fun to chase them around.. he he

Checking out the ducks

This is the bridge we found on our outing last week. It was at the end of the path after we came out of the woods. Here I am looking at those ducks that were so happily swimming around the pond. I sure wish Mom would let me get down there in the water to catch those ducks. I don't know what I would do with them if I caught one but it sure would be fun..

Checking out the sunshine

Here I am checking out what the alpha's are doing outside. We had a beautiful day unlike today where we have freezing rain and sleet. I did go visit the Vet today where everyone comment on how handsome I was. I like meeting new people but I could have done without the shots. Mom told me that I had to have those to stay energetic like I am..

I am dreaming

I am dreaming, looking at all the trees. Mom thought it was beautiful. I am hoping tomorrow is just as nice but the weather is looking bad. It is raining right now and it is supposed to turn cold and turn into a real winter storm with lots of ice. I hope the weather man is wrong because I would really love to go here again.

Me and Jordie

Here I am trying to make friends with that cat again. As you can see it didn't take long for those Ginsu knives to come out. I just can't figure out why he doesn't want to be my friend. I just want to smell him and make sure he is clean!! :0) He is always trying to get my nose with those sharp claws of his.. Maybe tomorrow he will be more willing. A happy blue heeler can only hope!!!

Look what I found on Mom's bed

Look what I found on the Alpha's bed. Now this is one nervy cat. He just sleeps there all day, laying around being lazy. I like trying to play with him but he always attacks me with those sharp claws of his. Someday we will be friends and until that day I will not give up!

Ducks

Check out what we saw on our walk. Ducks, they looked so happy out there swimming around. I sure wish mom would have let me jump in the water and try and catch them but, she just let me stand here and watch... Maybe next weekend.

Look at all the trees!!

Hey check this out. We went walking in the woods yesterday and there was a lot of trees for dogs to check out. I think I was in heaven. We walked through the woods and I checked out as many trees as mom would let me.

Look what I found!

We were off to the Lake in the Bug yesterday. I was so excited I have never gotten to ride in the VW before. Mom put a blanket in the back seat so I had it all to myself. I don't sit up as high as in the Lake mobile but I was a happy dog none the less.
While at the Lake I found this really unusual tree and just couldn't resist sticking my head through to see what was on the other side. Mom thinks maybe I was a cat in another life since I am so curious!

Look what I found

Look at the cool ramp I found. It goes all the way from the parking lot to the dock that is out of water at this time. I enjoyed running up and down it.
I sure hope we have nice weather tomorrow so I can go to the Lake again..

What do I do now?

Well I got up here on this big log but I am not sure what to do next. I can see quite a long way. Maybe I will jump off and go over to that big tree and do what dogs do best!! he he I love the woods, lots of trees for dogs!

Beautiful day

We had really nice day during the alph'a days off. I just thought you might enjoy seeing me gallop in the bright sunshine. I so enjoy my running in the tall grass looking for birds to chase. I am not sure what I would do if I ever caught one!!

Me and My Lake Mobile

Look Mom let me stand in the back of the truck. I so enjoyed jumping up in the back. The other day we saw 2 dogs at the Lake and their Alpha's had to boost them up into the back, sissy's. I don't need any help jumping into the back of my lake Mobile.

Today in Texas it is a pretty day but it is really cold and the wind is blowing. Mom said maybe we can go for a ride in the Lake Mobile later but it is just to cold to go to the Lake. Darn maybe next weekend!!
