That Louie has to copy me again! He had to show mom that he too could jump over the log.. He is such a copy cat!!

Doesn't this look like fun? While at the lake Mom got us to jump over this log. Look at me I am almost flying!!!

Today was a very dreary day. Mom had to go to work and it rained the entire day. Just what happen to the wonderful sunshine that we had last weekend?

Sharing?

I don't think this is called sharing Mom. I think it is called tolerating the little guy!! See he got a hold of the good end all I can do is smash it....

It is a gloomy day in Texas but at least we didn't get the 10 plus inches of snow that Grandma and MeMaw got in Wisconsin. They both tell us that they are tired of all the snow but more is predicted for Sunday. Only 13 more inches!!!! It is may be a record setting year there...

Air born!

This is Louie being silly again. I get the stick and he jumps like a deer after me. Mom has to laugh at him since he really doesn't realize how wet he really is getting..

Another nice day in Texas accept for the wind. Another Winds-day out..

Look what we found!

We found this awesome toy at the lake this weekend. Of course Louie thought he should have it so the chase was on. He did have one thing up on me though he figured out how to get a good grip on it.. See if you grab it by the neck you can easily jack it. I tried to grab it by biting it and that really didn't work so well....

Just hanging out in the woods together!

There is a small woods near the lake where we go. Lots of different smalls and things to see. Louie just follows me around through the trees and back into the lake.. Mom has been trying to get a picture of us jumping over that log but we are not cooperating with her... he he Mom is so silly she is trying a sneak attack.....

Look what Louie has!!

That Louie is always finding his own treasures at the lake. He found this funny looking stick. Mom threw it in the lake and I had to go retrieve it since Louie hasn't quite learned that one yet...

It was another nice day in Texas but it is supposed to start raining tonight and then turn colder tomorrow. I guess winter is not yet over...

Who's stick is it?

Darn that Louie trying to take my stick again. I usually just let him have it so he will take it to Mom so she can throw it again!! I am one smart heeler!!

Another lovely day in Texas. I am sure we will be headed to the lake soon so more water sports!!!

I'll just wait here!

Yepper we made it to the lake again today. The weather was just beautiful. Louie decided he would wait in the shallow water while I went and got the stick.. As you can see I am all wet while Louie is only partly wet...

Bitey face time?

The fight it on. Louie thinks he can win again. I still have a few things to show him though. Maybe when he gets older he will learn to just give it up!!

Tomorrow it is supposed to be 70 degrees F out. Mom said we should be able to go to the lake again since Louie's stitches are healed... Mom gave Louie a bath today, he tinkled in his condo and got it all over himself so she thought it was time. I sure hope he knows not to get dirty at the lake tomorrow or Mom will put him in that tub again....

Chase!!

Look at that Louie he thinks he is going to win this time. I have news for him though... I am right on his tail and gaining ground.. You can even see me kicking up the dust to keep up. Mom thinks it is funny because that Louie never gives up trying to best me... Maybe someday he will win...

Look what Louie found!!

I found that round thing that looked like a frisbee at the lake but Louie was so happy he found a stick. Mom was really proud of him he actually brought it back when she threw it. Of course he didn't realize that she was actually trying to tire him out. When will the little guy ever learn?? Oh just to let you know it worked. He slept the entire afternoon when we got home....

Dad left!!

Dad went somewhere without us so I am just going to sit here and look out the window until he comes home. He took that silver stick that he always has when we go to the lake and left us here!!!

It is all Louie's fault. He has to take it easy so we can't go to the lake today.. Brothers ruin everything...

What's out there?

Gus don't go to deep I am not sure if I can swim yet..

That Louie still follows me everywhere but look he won't go very deep into the water no matter what I find out there...

It was 80F in Texas today. I sure wish Mom and Dad didn't have to work. Maybe we could be at the lake doing this again...

Camouflaged!

Louie found a stick while we were at the lake last week. He thinks he is so smart laying in the grass all camouflaged.. As you can see Mom did find him so he is going to have to try harder next time...

We have a nice sun shiny day out today but Louie is supposed to be taking it easy after his surgery so I don't think we are going to make it to the lake. :0(

Back with Mom!

This is where Louie spends most of his time since he has come home from the Vet.. He seems to think he is a lap dog even though he now weighs 26 pounds.

Louie is supposed to take it easy for 10 days so I don't think we will be going to the lake this weekend..

We are helping Dad!

When we go to the Lake Dad brings that silver stick along that goes beep, beep, beep and then he digs for treasures in the dirt. As you can see we are helping him. He just got this new stick so he said he is still on a learning curve. Not to many treasures have been found yet but we are hoping. You know if Dad finds treasures that means we will go back to the Lake...

It is extremely windy in Texas today. The temperature has dropped to 34F from 50F this AM.

He's home!!

Louie is home and I am so happy. I am not going to let him out of my sight.. We are both looking out the window waiting for Dad to come home. Louie will be so happy to see him as will Dad be happy to see him.. It is hard to imagine how much you can miss someone when they are not here...

I am so sad..

I am so sad today. Sis took Louie away and I do not know where he is. Mom says he will be back tomorrow but I am really concerned..

Actually Louie had to go to the Vet to get fixed. He didn't even know what was going on. Well Sis's friend called and said that Louie got through the surgery just fine and we can pick him up after 9 AM tomorrow.. On the bright side of things, it is very quiet in the house right now.. I think I like the noise more......

My close-up!

Mom got lots of comments asking when she was going to post my close-up. Well after a bit of convincing I finally got her to take one of me.. Can you tell I am the more handsome brother and I smile all the time!!!

We also want Mitch and Maggie to know that we both have pretty brown eyes too..

Treasures at the lake!

Look at what I found at the lake today!! It looked like a frisbee, but mom said it was just a lid to something. All the same to me it was great fun to shake and toss it the air. Of course Louie was continually trying to get it away from me.. I always won though..
It was pretty overcast in the morning when we went to the lake but later the sun came out and it was just beautiful so guess what? You got it, we went to the lake again...

Close-up!

Mom was being silly with the camera again and took this closeup of Louie. She says that he always has this duffus look on his face.. Dad says its his "I didn't do it" look. He doesn't smile nearly as much as I do. As a matter of fact he rarely pants. I am sure that all will change when it gets warm out and we go to the lake in the hot Texas sun!!

Look at how big Louie is getting!

Mom took this picture while we were at the lake. She thought it was a good picture of how big Louie is getting. He is almost as tall as I am but of course he is mostly legs and of course he still hasn't grown into the huge ears he has. Of course you can't see those big worthless ears here but looking back you can..

Dad says since he is deaf he has no network and those ears are just for show!!

Another Giant Bird

Mom spotted this huge bird while we were at the lake. We don't really know what kind of a bird it is. We do know it is not one of those ugly buzzards. He was so beautiful. Mom was able to get pretty close before he flew off. Of course Dad was holding Louie and I back so we wouldn't scare it....

Supper Time!

Can you tell it is supper time? We are being so good waiting for Dad to put those bowls down..

I have a routine where I start staring at Mom at like 5 PM. Of course Supper time is not until 6 so Mom gets a bit tired of me staring at her. I even try to nudge her a bit to get her attention. She is really good at ignoring me...

Louie is trying to get invisible like me..

While I was getting invisible Louie decided to try and get in on it. Of course he first had to get over his water phobia! He usually gingerly walks into the water unless I am having all the fun.. Then he forgets all his fears unless the water gets to deep...

It started out at 38 degrees this am but now it is like 32 and the wind is blowing so it feels really cold..

What is out there?

We went out onto that dock again at the lake. This time we decided just to check out the scenery.. We saw some of those funny birds that float around in the water and some humans in boats..

I was sure to tell Louie not to jump since he doesn't know how to swim yet or at least he hasn't shown Mom and I that he can.. You see I have to keep my eye on that little guy since I am the big brother!!

Louie blogging?

Louie thinks it is great to help Mom doing her blogging. She says he gets in the way most of the time. He likes to lay his head on the keyboard and then the silly machine starts making all kinds of weird noises and spouting out errors... I think he just likes sitting close to Mom trying to get all my attention!!!

I am invisible too!

The other day Mom posted that Louie was invisible so I just had to show you how good I am at the same thing.. You see being blue I can hide right in the lake.. I wasn't very good at it though since I kept barking trying to get Mom to throw a stick for me...

The sun is shinning to day but it is quite cold out with the wind blowing. We are hoping that it warms up just a bit so Dad can go out and try out his new metal detector.. He got a new one called a Minelab Xterra. Dad is hoping he can find more treasures digging in the dirt!!

Do you think we look like Blood Hounds?

We are practicing our skills at sniffing things out. As you can see we are trying to perfect our skills of tracking. Mom says we don't have the ears for it but it doesn't help to try... I figure if I miss the scent maybe Louie will pick it up since his nose seems to work overtime being deaf and all.

Checking out the sites

While at the Lake Mom let us run free with our leashes trailing behind. She thought this would hinder us but we made do. We managed to check out lots of new sites and even play in the water although Mom thought it was to cold we didn't. We sure love the lake...

I can jump!

Louie may not be blue but he can jump. It took a while to get him to attempt it but he became very good at it in no time. He kind of blends right into the background too. I think he maybe invisible!!

See I am blue!

Mom took this picture at the lake this weekend and you really can tell how blue this blue heeler is. I was so happy being at the lake and you can see my true color.. I guess the light was just right on this day...

We are going to get you Mom!

While at the lake Mom had Dad hang on to us so she could go and take a picture of a humongus bird. When she was done she called us. Check me out, my feet aren't even on the ground.. I am so fast that Louie didn't have a chance at keeping up with me... I so love my Mom!!!

Your not going to catch me!

We sure had fun at the lake. Louie just wants to clear a few things up about the water. He says it's not that he doesn't like the water it is that he doesn't like going in very deep that is pretty scary. Now running to get away from me is another story, then it becomes a necessity to get all wet and that is way to much fun not to do...

Hiding on Mom!

Mom let us go while we were at the Lake and we thought we would hide on her. We think we did a pretty good job. We seem to blend right into the surroundings. Unfortunately she found us though.

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day again today. The Packers play at 3:30. Go Pack . Mom and Dad are hoping for a victory!!

At the Lake!

Here we are at the lake again. Mom tied us up to take this picture so she could get a picture of us standing on the dock. Louie wasn't to keen on this but he will grow up and love it here..

What are you doing?

While at the lake mom took this picture of Louie checking out the lake. We were on a pier looking out onto the lake. He was frightened when we got out there. Not sure what to think of the water around him. He quickly decided that we needed to move back down the dock away from the water and look at it from a far....

Fun at the lake!

We had a wonderful time at the lake playing in the water. That Louie thinks he is so fast but I can catch him. I am the big brother... We had so much fun running in the water. Of course Dad wasn't to happy when we got in his truck all wet... Oh well he will get over it...

Look at this monster bird!!

While at the lake on Sunday we saw this huge bird. Mom said it was just an old buzzard but he so magnificent looking to us. It was very windy out so he had a very hard time flying..

It is windy out again today with thunderstorms in the forecast. I guess it is better than having snow storms..

Dad what are you doing in there?

That Louie still has not figured out that there is only one way out of the bathroom!! He laid there and waited for Dad for quite some time.. Well Dad finally did come out. It sure seemed like he was in there forever though!!!

Louie and Baby Love

This is my sister Baby Love.

Suzanne at Justin Animal Control has adopted her and sees to this constant care. Suzanne is truly a special lady. God only knows that the world could use more people like Suzanne.

Baby Love was born blind and having seizures. Suzanne, her mom, raised money on Baby Love's blog to help get her the surgery needed to put a shunt from her brain to her abdomen. Baby Love no longer has seizures but she is in need of constant care.

As Baby Love is still blind, she needs to be shown her water and food bowl. She needs to be carried outside for potty breaks. As Baby Love is a special needs puppy, she sleeps most of the time. When she does wake up Suzanne says she can turn into "The Red Devil" hopping around and usually running into things.

We want to thank Suzanne and her husband Steve for inviting us out to meet Baby Love. Suzanne and Steve are truly wonderful people and Baby Love is certainly blessed to have them.

We are looking forward to visiting them again !!!

Now what are we going to do?

That Louie follows me where ever I go. Always getting in the way and trying to steal the nice treasures that I find.. Look at him he is step for step with me.. I know if I head on down and get in the lake he will leave me alone!!

It is a beautiful day out today. We are going to visit Louie's sister Baby Love. Mom says we are going to the lake before that to run some of our energy out before we go.. I don't understand that does she want us to sleep while we are there??

Vacations are so rough!

Mom has been off for almost 2 weeks and it is so rough. We have to follow her everywhere, we wouldn't want her to disappear on us. We have been busy doing laundry, cleaning, doing outside breaks and of course we have to go with mom for her pee breaks!! It has just worn Louie out. He sleeps a LOT..

Who's stick is it?

That Louie doesn't want to share again.. He can be so stingy!! I think it is my stick although it is a very small stick I don't want him to have all the fun..

Another cool day in Texas. It was like 30 degrees here this AM.. They are say that it will be in the 70's this weekend. Hello Lake here we come!!!

What are you doing Dad?

Dad was busy taking the Christmas tree down and that Louie decided he needed some help! Dad really wasn't to happy with him. I think it might have been the sloppy kisses he was getting. I couldn't help but sit there and laugh!!!

Mom is still off today. She had to go into work this morning and change some tapes. I don't really know what that means but we sure were happy to see her when she got home!!!
