Yep she is ours..
Yes this is Callie. She is a 12 week old red heeler. She was adopted by her first mom with the thought of having a herding dog. Well she found out that she was deaf and she just didn't think she had the time with her new baby and her horses to give her the attention she needed. She put her out on Craigs list but she didn't get any one that seemed to want her so we decided we had been through the deaf training thing so who better to adopt her.. So welcome Callie to the heeler family..

I got them!
See what a good job I did today. I got those sheep right where Dad wanted them and I laid down are watched them just like I am being trained to do.
Louie was busy eating "sheep treats" again today. What are we going to do with that boy?

Me and My Sister..
Mom has been busy reading all the wonderful comments about Baby Love so she decided to tell everyone thanks for all your kind words rather than try and tell everyone individually.
We talked with Baby Love's Mom last night and she also really appreciates all the comments. She is doing well just having a hard time changing her routine. Baby Love shaped her day.
We have concluded that Baby Love touch us all and will truly be missed. We can't hope but think that she is now whole. Being able to see for the first time and running without worrying about running into things..
We are blessed to have gotten to know you
and spend time with you.

Mom is so sad..
This is truly a very sad day. Louie's sister Baby Love has passed over the rainbow bridge.. Mom is so sad her eyes are leaking all over.. She is having a very hard time helping me with this. Please run on over to Baby Love's page and offer her Mom some words of encouragement. She will be missed by all of us who have grown to love her..

Where are you guys?
We were hiding on mom can you tell? Louie didn't get those huge ears down so mom spotted up. Thanks Louie!!
Another HOT day in Texas. There seems to be no rain in the forecast so I think we will just have to keep going to the lake to cool off...

Resting after a busy day at the lake
Man are we tired after all the fetching and running at the lake. Mom always knows when we are ready to go home or that it is getting to HOT.. She says we slow down and just rest to recharge our batteries..

Louie get out of the mud!!
You can't see it to well but Louie's nose is completely black from digging in the mud. He was mud up to his knees. He smelt something in the mud and thought that he had to have it.. Mom isn't sure what he dug out of there but she hustled us back down to the lake to play more fetch.. Thanks Louie I love the lake....

Let me help!!!
Louie thought he should help with the stick again. He wasn't to interested in helping when it was way out there in the water..
We made it to the lake yesterday after a trip to the vet. She says we are both doing fine but I have to loose a bit of weight.. I am 45 pounds and Louie is 36. The other vet didn't think Louie would get to be more than 35 so I guess I fooled them..

Louie's Mess!
Louie says this one is in honor of our good friend Mack. You thought you could make a mess!!
Mom came home yesterday from work only to find this all over the house. Of course Louie is blaming me for it but as you can see Mom caught him red heeler handed sleeping in his nest!!! I don't think you are going to wiggle out of this one!

Louie thinks he can help get the stick... I think he just wanted to get wet. He seems to like playing in the water. Mom says he is just like a kid always playing...

Louie the sheep??
Louie was supposed to be herding the sheep here but as you can see he is to busy chasing Mom and not the sheep. When will that little guy learn that when you chase sheep you may get lamb chops??

Thanks Griffindales!
A lovely package arrived in the mail for us yesterday from our new friends the Griffindales. We were so excited. We got a bunch of great stuff. I just love the jolly ball. I made sure to keep that away from Louie.. Louie's favorite was the squeek ball. I bugged me to death but he couldn't hear it so he just kept squeeking it.. Louie stop...
The treats were great. Dad even tried one, NOT, he just wanted Louie to think he was eating his treat..
Thanks again for all the lovely stuff... Gus and Louie

Another Herding Class!
Dad said I did much better today. I am getting better at not bolting after the sheep although I have to try sometime..
Louie still has not quite got the idea although he did get the sheep out of one pen into another with no problems. He even managed to chase after the sheep a bit..

Mom caught Louie resting after our nice walk at the lake.. She couldn't figure out what he had on his nose but she thought it was cute.. He must have stuck the nose where it didn't belong again!!!

Is it supper time yet?
This is our very sad look. We get this look about 5:30 since super time is at 6:00. Don't we look pathetic? Mom always tells us 30 more minutes like we can tell time. What is up with her. We haven't mastered that yet. We do know that our tummys are growling so it must be time!!! Hurry up Mom!

More Herding!
As you can see I slipped the leash and I was after those sheep. Dad finally caught me after I ran out of steam. You see I didn't want to eat those sheep I just wanted to play chase with them..
Louie is helping Dad carry his leash. You know he is a very helpful puppy.. You can't run well with that leash dangling in your way...

Herding Sunday!
Yepper we went herding today.. See the sheep Louie is ignoring? He is supposed to be herding them but he likes eating sheep poop and kind of ignores them. Lori says he does have some potential since the sheep seem to shutter when they see him.. Dad even dropped the leash and of course Louie thought he should carry it himself. Louie is kind of our comic relief..
Me on the other hand I like to chase the sheep. See Dad has gloves on today since I try as hard as I can to chase those ugly little things.. Maybe someday I too will be good enough to be left off the lead like my little brother...

Cooling our Feet!
It was rather overcast at the lake this AM but still quite warm. Mom took us for a long walk and then let us cool our feet in the lake.
We had to leave quite quickly though as it started to sprinkle on us.
We made a quick trip into Lewisville to get Ddn a new chainsaw. "Happy Early Pappy's Day"
Now the sun is out and it is getting way to hot out there for heelers.. We are resting on the cool concrete in the house...

Headed off together!
We are off on our own little adventure together..
There are lots of things to discover at the lake and most of the time we enjoy doing it together...
Notice I am still bigger than he is but I let him take the lead once in a while..

Wait for me gus!!
Louie got left behind again so he was on a mission to catch up to me.
It was very warm at the lake so we didn't stay to long. Mom didn't want me to get over heated and she didn't want to walk us down the road for fear that we would burn the pads on our feet.. We did have a nice walk along the shore in the water...
