Yepper we went herding today.. See the sheep Louie is ignoring? He is supposed to be herding them but he likes eating sheep poop and kind of ignores them. Lori says he does have some potential since the sheep seem to shutter when they see him.. Dad even dropped the leash and of course Louie thought he should carry it himself. Louie is kind of our comic relief..
Me on the other hand I like to chase the sheep. See Dad has gloves on today since I try as hard as I can to chase those ugly little things.. Maybe someday I too will be good enough to be left off the lead like my little brother...

oooh I've never had sheep poop before. Sounds deelish though.
If eating poop were an olympic event, Louie and Ari would be doubles champions!! Gus, looks like you need to give your little brother a few more lessons on what to do with the creators of the poop.
Hey Gus, somebody has to provide the humour element on such a serious occasion! Louie is just helping to make you look good! ;-)
Cheers
Charlie
Hi, Gus!
Sounds like Louie is in charge of the funny time there!
Glad you had a great time!
Kisses and hugs

Hi Gus and Louie-it takes us cattle dogs a little bit of practice to stop chasing the sheep! You'll be off the leash soon!!! It will all of a sudden click-it clicked for me today on my outruns and my mom was SO HAPPY!!!!!
I'm glad your dad was wearing gloves!! Are you doing "strafing runs" as my mom calls it around the sheep?
I used to bark at them all the time and about 3 weeks ago I stopped barking all together...so there are always little steps!! But mom says you have to be patient with cattle dogs-they are a little harder to train and more stubborn than border collies!!
I think it's funny that Louie eats sheep poop. I know another cattle dog that does that too!!

Daisy is the poop eater in our house. She says she's never had sheep poop but squirrel and cat--yum! I think it must be fun to chase sheep. I'd bark at them the whole time really loud.

Them sheep are no fools..they knew Louie meant business with that high tail in air! Yeah, baby! YOu show him! :)
I like that Louie is a free spirit and just does what comes to him.
The more I hear about Louie, the more he sounds like my kind of guy! HA roo roo roo!
Play bows,
Zim
Oh no, Louie! You must not eat sheep poop! That can't be healthy. You must learn to herd and avoid sheep poop.

There's nothing like a little sheep poop to distract you, right, Louie? hee!hee!
Herbie would love to have some sheep poops!
Eating sheep poop or chasing the sheep. Hmm, it's a tough call!

If I was to herd sheep, I'd probably go for their poop instead, just like Louie... Hee hee... But I'm sure that you do a wonderful job at herding the sheep!
