Check out my new backpack!

Mom and Dad got me this new backpack. They are thinking that it might tire me out faster if I wear it on our walks.. I am thinking that they need to get one for Louie since he is the one that is still just as much a pill when we get back from our walk as he is when we leave for it.. Oh ya he pants on the walk but when we get home he has already caught his breathe and is jumping on me... Kids....

The setting sun!

We went to the lake this past weekend and Mom got a picture of us as the sun was going down.. Mom thought it was a pretty cool picture. We had a very nice walk last night night. I was totally wiped out but that Louie still had plenty of energy left. I guess I am getting older and slowing down a bit...

Just chilling!

We were just chillin at the lake. Mom caught us just resting on the picnic table by the lake. She took us for a nice long walk and so we were more than willing to just lay here and enjoy the scenery...
I sure hope Dad gets home early tonight so we can go for a nice walk again tonight. I really enjoy our walks and I know that Louie does also. He acts so proud when he is walking next to me, Mom and Dad...

Pretty day at the lake.

It sure was a nice day here in Texas yesterday. The ducks sure were enjoying the nice cool weather so Mom just had to get a picture of them swimming. Mom wouldn't let me and Louie close to them though. I don't know what she was thinking.... We aren't duck dogs!!!!

We weren't paying attention

Mom was trying to take our picture and we were just to interested in the other dogs at the lake. Mom kept calling my name but whenever she did that I would jump off the table.. Of course Louie wouldn't look at all since he doesn't hear anything...
We had a very nice walk at the Lake. Mom says I am doing much better on my walks not pulling nearly as hard as I used to. I sure hope she continues this because I really like walks...

Aren't we handsome

This is a picture of us at the lake. We had a long walk and we were in the cool down stage. Mom and Dad seem to think that if they take us for a long walk first then we will sit still and let Mom take our picture.
It was a beautiful day at the lake. We sat and watched the other dogs play but mom wouldn't let us go for fear that we would get into trouble..

The Lake was awesome.

Finally today I get to take my blog back. Mom took a picture of me at the Lake watching all the humans out there fishing. We had a very nice time at the lake walking and watching all the different things that was going on. Dad did manage to find some pennies and a couple of quarters digging in the dirt..

Baby Love Update

A very generous family donated the funds for my sister 'Baby Love' to get her needed surgery !!!!

This is her in the sweater she will wear to help keep her warm after her surgery.

Louie and I would love to be there when (and we are praying here) her sight returns. Tell me that wouldn't be the coolest experience in the world.

Finally he is sleeping

That Louie is always getting in my face. Look he really does sleep. I think he is just recharging those little batteries of his. He will soon be jumping all over me and biting on me again. I think I will just enjoy this quiet time before he starts jumping all over me again with those sharp little teeth.

Prince Louie

Look at the little toot he thinks he is somebody sitting on that pillow watching us! He likes to get up high and away from everyone so that he can survey the territory. I think he does it because he can not hear and this way he can see all that is going on. I hate to admit it but he is one smart pup!
We went for a walk with Sis and she laughs at Louie because most of the time his front feet are not even touching the ground. He is always trying to get ahead of us...

Louie is getting in trouble again!

Mom and Dad are working at taking the popcorn off the ceiling and that Louie thinks that it is something to eat. Dad was squirting him with the water bottle but he just doesn't learn. Notice he has snuck off with a piece of the ceiling here. That little pup just won't learn!!

Playing in the water

We went to a small park yesterday since all the big parks are still closed here in Texas. Mom and Dad don't know when they will open or if they will open again this season.
While at the lake I decided to check out the water and Louie thought we should wrestle while we were in there. Dad quickly got us out of there for fear we would have 2 very wet dogs.. Dad said there was just to many humans around to let us run free and play in it. How I miss our other park!!

Mom has been trying to get a good picture of us for the Rescue Calendar that the "Bone Zone" is going to put out this Fall to raise money for a Rescue Shelter and Louie got bored.. He decide to lay down just at the wrong moment but Mom thought it was a cute picture anyway. We will keep you posted as to when it will be available..

What are you doing Dad

Dad was cleaning up after Mom made supper last night so we were waiting patiently for something to drop. Mom is usually cooking out here in the kitchen and you never know what might hit the floor. Mom laughed since Dad was just washing the pots and she knew that nothing was going to fall. What is up with that?? Dad doesn't know how to cook????

Hanging out with Sis

Sis decided to let us sit by her while Mom took our picture. We are happy to sit by her. She is all dressed up ready to go out with Toph for his Birthday. Sis said she was his designated driver and Mom was really proud of that. I don't know what that means but it made everyone happy just knowing that big brother would be safe.. Thanks Sis.....

Update on Louie's Brother

This is way too cool, I just received an email from Justin Animal Control and a letter from Hero's (aka Louie's brother Joey) forever parents !!!

I hope they don't mind us posting their letter, but we LOVE success stories !!!

I wanted to give you an update on Joey. His new name is “hero” and he is hilarious. He is such a good boy. He already knows his name and sits on command!!! He goes into his kennel to sleep at night (right beside my bed of course) and doesn’t make a peep until morning when he lets me know he needs to potty. We have only had two pee pee accidents so far! He has been busy playing with my german shepherd (he heels her constantly- so funny). We have been to the vet and Hero behaved like a true gentleman. We are planning on taking him to our lake house this weekend.

I attached a picture of him getting his belly rubbed- he doesn’t stay still very long. Thanks for everything. He has filled our lives with joy!

Sitting on the kids picnic table

That little Louie thinks he is somebody, sitting up there on the kids picnic table. I think he likes it because he is way up high and can see further. I think he is just being really nervy!!!

Wrestling again

Here we are wrestling again. I really like playing with my little brother although I would never admit it. We rough house until Mom says that is enough and sends us outside. I don't know what is wrong with playing in the house but Mom doesn't like it. She says we will break something but I don't thinks so...

Hey what is out there?

Mom opened the windows yesterday and so we had to checkout what was out there!! We didn't see to much but Mom thought it was pretty funny seeing us both looking out..
Today it is kind of overcast and it looks like it might rain but hopefully we can get over to the park for a nice walk soon... We like walks.... Woof

I got my window seat back

I managed to get my window seat back today. Louie was to busy sleeping by Mom to worry about what I was doing. It is a beautiful day out. A nice breeze is blowing in the windows so I am content to just lay here and enjoy it..
Mom and Dad are going out to eat later for Mom and brother Toph's birthday. Toph was born on Mom's birthday so she says she no longer has birthdays. I guess she is staying young that way..

Don't we look good together?

Mom caught us both standing still for a change. We usually are busy fighting over the same toy or lately our favorite game is to wait until Dad lays down and licking him in the face. Dad doesn't like it much but we think it is hilarious. Louie likes to jump on Dad but he gets a bit upset when I jump on him. I am not really sure why, I always thought I was a lap dog!!!

Waiting for Dad

Look at that silly Louie. He thinks if he stands there and looks out the window Dad will come home sooner. I tried to tell him that it just wasn't time for him yet but he insisted on standing there. I think he also likes looking out watching the kids play over at the neighbors. We seem to have a lot of kids in the neighborhood these days and Louie thinks they are so much fun to watch...

Protecting my brother

Well I guess this little guy is ok. He sat and kept watch while I took a little nap. He oh so liked looking out the window and smelling all the new smells.
Maybe we will be able to go to the park again this weekend so we can run free for a bit..

Sharing

Look we are being good.. We have this rope that we enjoy playing tug-a-war with. Louie always looses but he still tries.. He seems to be getting a lot stronger as well as taller. He seems to be turning into all legs.

Update on Rescues

Short update:

Justin Animal Control emailed me today, they have 4 good applicants for Louie's brother Joey, home visits are next, got our fingers crossed that Joey finds his forever home. Thank You Suzanne !!!

Baby Love (Louie's sister) had her MRI on Friday, as suspected it showed fluid on the brain causing "Hydrocephalus". Next step is surgery. If you get a chance, Suzanne has posted photographs of Baby Love getting her MRI at Baby Love's Blog

Last word, Piper was being moved to Operation Kindness the largest "No Kill" shelter in North Texas.

Hard day!

We went to the park and took a long walk so we had to recharge our batteries once we got home. Look Louie has the nerve to sleep close to me.. I guess it is ok he seems to be ok for a little brother. I do enjoy wrestling with him...

It was finally a nice day in Texas where is was cool enough outside for Mom to open the windows. We enjoyed sitting in the window and watching what was going on outside. Louie was especially interested since he could not only see what was going on but smell as well.
Dad had to work so we spent most of the day here waiting for him to come home..

Look at the Louie!

That Louie is just taking over my family!! Look at him here sitting on Sis's lap. Now that is some nerve. Who does he think he is. The little brother?
Mom, Sis and I took Louie to the Vet for his 3rd set of shots today. They said that Louie looked really good. He weighed in at 12 pounds 8 oz. He was only 8 pounds 3 weeks ago. At this rate he will be my size in no time!!!

He is still trying to steal my toy.

Louie is still trying to take my toy. I found it but now he thinks it is his. I had to show him that I was still the big brother and I could take it away from him. We had to wrestle for quite some time before he figured out that it was now MY toy!! I maybe the big brother but I still like the shred these things the call frisbee's.

He is attacking me again!

Here that little pill is attacking me again. I am trying to be nice but those little teeth are really sharp. Mom let us run free at the lake for a bit and we decided it was a great time to wrestle.. That little guy just doesn't know when to quit..

An award from River !!!

We got this award from River !!! We were so excited, mom & dad were going to post it last night, but then we got the disturbing email that Louie's brother needed rescue, and as always, family and Joey's rescue comes first, us dogs have to stick together, especially when FAMILY is involved !!!

Joey, Louie's brother needs help !!!

This is Joey, Louie's brother, he "WAS" adopted but returned this morning, covered in fleas and diarrhea from another dog.





Justin animal control just emailed me, they have gotten him flea medicine, gave him a bath, cleaned him up and given him some toys for play.

The email said poor: Joey seemed "so sad" that he was returned from what he thought was his "forever" home.

Mom thought there was something wrong with Louie since she had never seen him pant, but look at him he is panting! Ya I just had to chase him around the backyard for a while and that little pink tongue came out. Isn't he cute?

A sleeping Blue heeler is a good blue heeler!

We went to the lake on Saturday and Sunday and this was the scene after we got home. Mom read somewhere that a sleeping Blue Heeler is a good Blue Heeler so obviously we are very good boys..
Of course this did not last to long Mom says we were just recharging our batteries again.
