Don't I look relaxed

Don't I look relaxed? This was taken before all the rain came and we could go to the park and I could run and play. I am so hoping that the rain will stop so I can get back to this place and enjoy the sunshine and the swimming. Hopefully Dad will feel better this weekend so we can walk back into the park and I can be free!!!

Isn't this beautiful?

While Mom was in Wisconsin she took this beautiful picture of the sunset. This is the hill above my Uncle Doug's house. The colors are just awesome.
Mom said it was so quiet there. No road noise from the highway. In fact there isn't a highway for miles. The farmhouse is the only one on the road.

Wow Mom what is it.

We spotted this huge bird while we were out on our walk last weekend. Mom thinks it is a crane but we will have to ask Grandma Irma to verify for us what it really is called. He just stood on the bridge and didn't even bother to fly away. Mom thinks he was posing for her!!
I was hoping that I could play with him but once again Mom made me look and not touch. Blue heeler's never get to play with the fun ones....
It looks like we are going to have another hot day here in Texas I am staring at Mom hoping she gets the hint that I sure would like to go for a walk/run at the Lake....... Hey Mom look at me!!!

Check out the beautiful flower

While Mom and I were walking we came across these beautiful flowers. Dogs aren't much into flowers but this is really pretty so I had to share. Mom enjoys taking pictures of flowers and landscapes of course I don't mind since it means Gus gets to go along and explore.
We are hoping to get out to the lake today. They are predicting rain for this afternoon so I hope I can get Mom and Dad fired up soon...

The ball field

This is the ball field we went to on Sunday. As you can see it is relatively new so the trees are pretty small. Not much shade for a HOT blue heeler to lay in but, I managed to find the closes tree to lay under.
The path I spoke of was down a small trail on the hill over looking the field. As I said it was pretty small but it had plenty of trees for me to mark.

Beautiful place to walk

We found this beautiful place to walk at the baseball field. We walked through the woods and it ended up at the top of a hill. There was a small picnic area when we got to the top. We kept wondering through the woods and we even saw a bunny. That bunny was way to fast for me. Of course mom had me on my leash so the bunny had a definite advantage. Mom said I wouldn't know what to do with that bunny if I did manage to catch him. I just thought he might want to play with a handsome blue heeler.. he he

I found the shade..

It was very Hot on Sunday so I found a nice spot under a shade tree. Mom thought it was funny that the first place I went after our walk was to the shade. One smart puppy.
We were at the baseball field so the trees were pretty small. Mom managed to find an empty water bottle and put some nice cool water in it for me.. I was one very thankful dog since I was so thirsty!!!!

Check this little guy out

We found this little guy just sunning himself while on our nature walk. He just seemed happy to let Mom take his picture. Dad said he is a praying manthis and a good bug so he wouldn't let me disturb him.
Well it is HOT here now. The rain seems to have quit and the sun is nice and bright.. Mom needs to go out and water her flowers later after it cools a bit. They are looking pretty dry. Maybe the water at the lake will evaporate a bit... I sure hope so, I miss our trips to the park.

Look what we saw!!

Well it wasn't the lake as you know but we did go to a park that had water and ducks!! Their pond must drain into our lake since it was it usual depth. Don't they look like they are enjoying the morning?
I wanted to go talk to them but Mom wouldn't let me. :0( I wanted to play in their water too but Mom wouldn't let me. It was kind of a depressing day but I got to go for a walk so all is well in my world!!!

It's not the lake

Well Dad looked it up; all the parks are closed. They are predicting more rain again this afternoon. I sure wish it would quit so I could get back in the water.
We couldn't go to the lake today so Mom and Dad took me for a walk on the nature trail by the soccer fields. It was nice and quiet but it wasn't the lake.
There was a lot of trees though. :0) Trees make a Blue Heeler very happy..
Dad is out mowing the yard to get it done before the next round of rain comes... I wish I could be out there with him. I like to bark at the noisy machines!!! I bite at the tires and Dad gets upset with me......

I am playing in the water again

Here is a picture of me playing in the water again. It did not rain again today so I oh so hope that the lake will start to recede so I can again get back to playing in the lake. Dad is only working half a day tomorrow so hopefully the park will be open so we can go play again. Dad said we can go to the lake when mom gets home. I can hardly wait..

Cool picture

Mom took this picture while at the lake last week. We thought is was a pretty cool picture so we thought it would be great to share with all our fans.. I know it isn't a picture of a handsome blue heeler like me but it is pretty awesome looking.
Well we had another day of no rain but that nasty weather man is predicting it again for this evening. Looking outside it is getting darker. Do you think I will ever get back to the Lake??

More High Water

Here is another picture of the high water. I sure hope that it stops raining so that soon so these poor trees can again be out on land again. The parks and some of the access roads are still closed. The good thing is that it hasn't rained in 2 days so maybe we can get back to the park soon. Mom thinks I am a depressed puppy since we can't go to the lake but actually I don't mind as long as I am close to Mom and Dad!! Remember I am a people puppy..

Ya, 4th of July

This is one of the pictures that Dad took at the fireworks on Wednesday night. He got a lot of great pictures. We enjoyed the 4th with Donna, Allie and family along with a bunch of Toph and Jessica's friends. I think a fun time was had by all.
The fireworks went on for about a half hour with lots of ooo's and ah's..

Bing!

Aunt Carrie's friends got a new Sheltie puppy named Bing. Isn't he cute? I wish I could go visit and play with him. I think we would have so much fun playing together. Maybe we could go to the lake and play??
Aunt Carrie you could bring him here to play with me! I would show him just how much fun the lake is to play in. Of course he may have to have a bath afterwards... he he

Look I found a new toy

Mom really doesn't know what this was but I liked it. It was great for pushing across the ground and tossing up in the air. I am resting here thinking about chewing on it some more. Mom finally took it away from me when is was time to go home. She put it in the big nasty smelling box?
It looks like a beautiful day today but Dad had to go to work. Something about year end? Don't they know it is only July?

I like the water

It is cloudy again today. The weatherman says 60% chance of rain again today. Of course it is cloudy and sprinkling at the present time.
But I am a blue heeler and I don't mind the rain. Mom tries to tell me to stay out of the mud in the backyard but how do you do that when the backyard is a swamp!!!!
Look at me playing in the water. Come on in mom the water is fine!!!

The lake is up

It has rained again so I fear the park is closed off. Last weekend the water was over the road on the way to our park. Mom is afraid that the people that live in the houses near the entrance to the park will not be able to get home. We are hoping that they have a boat or a very large truck..
A blue heeler would love to live down there. Then I could go to the lake all the time. I could run through the water to get back home..

The lake has grown

Here is another picture of the high water. This is the road to the that goes back to the other part of the park. As you can see the water has taken over most of the land. I did enjoy chasing the stick for Mom on the road. She thought that if we played on the road maybe she could wear off some of my claws on tar. I certainly made a great blue heeler effort at it..

The boat ramp is gone

This is a picture of the park yesterday since we have had all the rain this week. This is where the boat ramp should be. As you can see the water has eaten it! The park was closed to traffic so Mom, Dad and I walked back into it. Everything was under water but it was really nice. I got to play in all that water without my leash. Since no one else was back there Mom let me run all over checking things out. We even got to play with a stick right on the road since it to was under water...
The sun is shining right now so I sure hope we can go back there again and play some more..

It is really me!

I know you have to look close but it really is me in that water. I know I am scared to go into the deep water but when it isn't deep I can really get wet. Doesn't this look like fun?
Well it continues to rain here in Texas. My bowl outside is again full which means another 4 inches of rain has fallen in the last couple of day. It doesn't look good for a puppy that wants to go to the lake. The weatherman is predicting rain for the next 5 days.. When will it ever stop?

Fighting with Dad

Look at me fighting with Dad. Dad through the stick this time but I didn't think he should have it so we fought. I almost pulled Dad right into the water. Of course I won, Dad gave up. I guess Dad didn't want to be pulled into the water. I think Dad would have looking pretty funny in the water with me...

I got it!

I told you Mom had a picture of me getting that stick. I can really make a splash. That stick just can't get away from me. Chasing stick is so much fun... I bet you would never have guessed what a big splash a blue heeler could make. I so enjoy chasing those sticks...

Look at me go!

I really love to chase sticks into the water. Mom caught me in action. I was just zooming after that stick. Mom doesn't think it really does me justice but I think she did a great job at catching me in action. I run as fast as I can after that stick and dive for it once I get to it... She has another picture she will show you tomorrow with me diving... Wow I love the lake...

It's is raining again

Look at my dish. Mom emptied this just yesterday so as you can see the rain has continued to come down. It looks like we have had about 4 inches of rain since yesterday afternoon. I am really afraid now that the lake will be so full that they will close the park and I won't be able to go swimming this weekend..
Mom said she sure hopes that her new bug floats like they advertised the old bugs did. She thinks that maybe she needs a paddle as a standard option in the bug.

I guess the lake is up!

As you can see the lake is up quite a bit. This sign is usually out of the water but now it is not. It is raining here again today so the lake will continue to rise. I am guessing they may close the parks soon if this continues. We went over to the other park on Sunday and many of the pavilions were under water. I sure hope it quits soon or there will be no place for a blue heeler to swim.

Mom I lost my stick

I lost my stick so I decided to be creative. I thought that if I stood on this log in the middle of the lake I could get closer to it. I could see it but it was just to deep for me. After about 5 minutes of trying to get closer and barking at it it finally floated in so I could grab it. Mom thinks I am one goofy dog but ha it worked...

The lake is really up now

With all the rain we have had the lake has really come up. As you can see a lot of the mature trees are already in the water. They are predicting rain again for the next few days so it will continue to rise. Of course blue heelers don't mind that means there is just more water for them to play in. The big problem is all those giant sticks that keep washing up on the shore. They are to big to move so I have to run around them to fetch a nice stick. Then I have a really hard time decided which stick to bring mom... Oh the decisions we must make!!!!

beautiful lake

See how beautiful the lake is. The lake is up again but as you can see the drift wood has drifted up onto the shore. It is great that the lake is up but
we could do without all the trash that has decide to make a home here. Mom thinks it looks really bad but I don't mind lots of really nice sticks wash up on shore. Those are the best sticks around since they make for good throwing and retrieving.. See mom they aren't so bad..

Cool picture

Mom thought that the waves crashing on the shore were pretty interesting so she took this cool picture of the waves.. As you can see the lake is up again as the rocks at almost underwater..
It rained a bit again today so the lake continues to rise leaving less room for the blue heeler to play..
Of course I don't mind since blue heelers love to play in the water also.. ya let me play.

Ain't I a handsome devil

Look at this handsome dog! Mom took my picture while we were at the lake. As you can see I am quite the happy dog. Mom says I am always smiling which makes everyone happy. See I still have my collar on which means some other people showed up. Darn I wish those other people would just stay home so I can run and run and play in the lake without this nasty collar... Maybe this weekend everyone will stay home so I can again run wild..

Look I am shaking..

Here I am at the Lake again out in the water. Mom had to laugh since I did my shaking while I was still in the water. I guess I am a pretty silly dog. Mom caught me in mid shake. I look pretty funny don't I? It seems that mom is able to freeze time with her fancy new camera. Notice all the water that is flying off me. I am one goofy dog...

Look it quit raining!

We had an entire weekend of rain here in Texas. Finally the rain quit about 4 o'clock so Mom and Dad took me to the Lake. It got kind of hot while we were there so I quickly ran down to the Lake to cool off. I found this BIG slick but I couldn't figure out how to bring it back to Mom. Mom told me it was just to big of a stick for a 50 pound blue heeler to drag to shore.. I certainly made a good effort to get that stick..

Look it is Woody Packer!

We heard something while at the lake Friday night. There was a tap tap tap. Mom saw him first. It was Woody Packer or at least that is what Sis used to call them. Mom was quite a ways away and even with standing on the picnic table under the tree she could not get to close. We will have to ask Grandma Irma if it is a Pilliated Woodpecker! He seemed really happy just sitting there pecking away..

Look at how deep it is

Mom threw the stick for me and look at how deep I had to go to get it. I think I was swimming my feet were NOT touching. I got that stick. Mom did throw a few that I did not get. Then I would just run as deep as I thought was safe and bark at it. Mom even left me down by the Lake one time just barking at that stick. I turned around and she was gone. Of course I ran after her as fast as I could with water flying everywhere. Dad thinks it is pretty comical to see me running after Mom.

Look at this thing

Look at the weird looking bug we found at the lake. I am not really sure what it is but Mom got a really good picture of it. Dad told me and Mom what it was but I really do not remember it's name. I tried to play with it but all I managed to do was knock his leg off. As you can see he is missing one of his back legs. Mom managed to get him on the tree before I could do him anymore damage. Wow what you can see at the lake...

Look at how pretty the lake is!

Mom took this great picture at the lake on Saturday. It was rather hot but the lake was beautiful. The sun was shinning and the lake was calm even though the air was pretty HOT. Doesn't it look beautiful? Just the right weather for dogs to go swimming and chase sticks..
It is supposed to rain this Saturday which Mom is really hoping for to cool the air but I am sure the weather man will be wrong again.

What is up there?

While at the lake I was just looking around and I noticed something up there! I checked it out but I never did figure out what it was. So what really was up there? I don't think mom will ever really know. As you can see blue heelers are just curious like cats...

Look at me!

Wow the lake is great. I was chasing a stick for Mom and I lost it. I know mom threw it but I just can't seem to find it. It has to be here some place. I kept looking but I never found it Mom had to finally throw another stick.
It was nice out here swimming though.. I could spend the entire day here at the lake looking for that lost stick.

Look at my Sister

Sis went with us to the lake on Saturday afternoon. Mom caught her unaware. I don't think she was to
happy having her picture taken.
Sis, Mom and I went for a long walk. Mom took her back to our favorite place at the lake where there was no one else around. We went down to the lake so I could take a little swim which I really enjoyed since it was very hot out. The quick swim really did cool me off.

Look at the family!

Yesterday Momma duck had her ducklings out for a swim. This must be how Momma duck tires her family out. They all follow mom where ever she goes. I guess those little ducklings do not know how to fetch a stick.. Do you suppose Momma duck could teach them how to fetch a stick..
We had a pretty hot day today at the Lake. I think that the Texas Summer has arrived. I was just plane hot and humid out. I did play in the water to keep me cool..

Whole lot of shaking going on!

We just got back from the lake. Of course we had to go to the Vet first. Mom and Dad thought I had better get some more flea and tick medicine with all the trips to the lake we have had.
Mom and I played fetch the stick out of the Lake. Mom caught me shaking. As you can see there is a whole lot of shaking going on. Mom thinks it is funny to blur me as I am shaking... I look pretty funny here but it sure feels great!

Look at these waves.. Mom caught me checking out the waves while we were at the lake. They looked so cool splashing on shore. Mom was actually trying to just get a picture of the waves but I jumped into the picture. Mom said it was a great picture if I was not in it but, what does she know I am so handsome... I will let her try and get another picture this weekend. Then I will get to go to the Lake again... Ya

That is one big duck

Look at the big duck we found at the lake. Mom said it wasn't a duck at all it was a heron. Mom caught him in flight. He was so beautiful flying around the lake. They do not seem to swim like ducks they dive down and grab fish right out of the water. I wonder what fish really taste like. Maybe someday mom will bring me a fish to try..

The lake was beautiful

As you can see the Lake was beautiful this past weekend.. The lake is up and everything is so green from all the rain we have had. I just hope that it continues to rain this summer so everything stays that way. Being in Texas the rain will soon stop and it will just get hot and turn brown but a dog can hope..

I got it

Mom and I were playing at the lake again. She caught me getting that stick before this one got to deep for me to get. This one was almost to deep as you can see I got all wet. Mom said I was actually swimming this time. I was paddling my feet and I survived. Maybe this weekend I will be a bit more braver and actually enjoy the swim..

Where is my stick

Mom was throwing the stick for me while we were at the lake on Sunday. She just happen to throw the stick a little to deep for me so I climbed on this log to see where it had went. I tried barking at it to get it to come at me but it just wasn't listening to me. Mom says I am a big chicken since I will not retrieve the stick if I can no longer touch bottom. Mom ended up using 3 sticks since 2 of them went to deep for me. Maybe some day I will learn how to swim..

Another rainy day in Texas

Well it is another rainy day here in Texas. As you can see I am dreaming of the fun I had chasing the stick and shaking at the lake on Friday. Mom said "there was a whole lot of shaking going on"
She caught me looking pretty goofy as I was shaking...
Where is the sunshine?

Sure was hot out!

It was a very hot evening so as you can see I decided to lounge in the mud puddle. Of course Dad said I had to go down to the lake for a swim before I could go home. He didn't want that dirty dawg in his truck.. Mom did make sure I went for a swim.. Oh Dad I didn't mind at all..

What is it Mom

We went to the lake today. It was a very nice day. No rain for the first time in about a week. I really enjoyed jumping into the lake to cool off. Here Mom caught me trying to figure out what was in there. Mom figured out that it just was waves slapping on the shore. It sure had me intrigued though. You never know what is in that lake. It might have been a huge fish trying to get me...
