We spotted this guy at the lake the other day. Mom actually got pretty close to him before he flew away. He is about the most unique bird we have seen.

We have great blue herons visit our pond! They like to snatch the fishies! Isn't it funny to see them drag their feet behind them when they fly! We always wonder why they don't tuck them up!

It is a heron right? We have them here too.. including the world largest heron. They look too thin to be tasty.
I believe this bird is a Great Blue Heron, one of my favorites. Beautiful photo of him.
