Look at this nervy duck

We went to one of those Tot Lots and there was a duck there that walked right up to us. Mom had to hold me back though since I have never seen a duck this close before. He actually let Mom pet him. I thought he was a funny looking animal. With 2 legs and doing all that waddling... Oh and what kind of a nose is that and where is the fur!!!
Next time maybe Mom will let me get close enough to really check him out..

Another pretty day

As you can see the lake was pretty calm and nice and cool on this day. I went for a nice walk with mom and she took this lovely picture. There were people out fishing and others walking their dogs. I was very interested in those dogs but mom kept me on a short leash. I like to bark at them to scare them. I think it is a fun game but mom doesn't, I don't understand that.

Check out the path we found

While Mom and I were wondering around on Saturday we came across this neat looking path. It had pretty bushes and trees that were all beginning to turn green. It took us to someones backyard which was kind of a let down. Although we did see a puppy while we were there. Mom quickly made me turn around before encountering the puppy. I did manage to bark at him. Mom wasn't sure what I would do to him..

Look at the nice green grass

Look at the nice grass I found to rest in. Dad took us to a Tot Lot after I had played with the frisbee at the Lake. I was so tired from all that playing that I just laid in the grass and panted. It was such a beautiful day that I just laid there and enjoyed the sunshine.

I was so tired

I was so tired after being at the lake with that new frisbee that I had found, that I just headed to the truck. I ducked under it hoping that Dad would get the hint that I was ready to go home. I really think he got the hint. He had to coax me out from under there.
Did I tell you that I really like the new lake mobile!!!

Fun in the woods

Isn't this beautiful? I was wondering in the woods and A.D.D. struck like always as mom says. I was running and checking things out and then I just had to stop because something distracted me.
As you can see the the trees are beginning to green up. Soon everything will be green and you really won't be able to find me in the woods.
MeMaw says that she hasn't seen much green lately but from the way it sounds the weather is turning nice in Wisconsin also. They are supposed to have 80 degree weather tomorrow. April showers will surely bring May flowers...

Check out the treasures we found today

See the great treasure I found today! Mom and I went for a walk down through the woods and we found this perfectly good frisbee. I had so much fun with it today. I shook it and shook it and pushed it all over the lawn at the Lake. Here I am resting after I long day of playing. Isn't the Lake a great place? You never know what great things you will find.

Beautiful day at the lake

Mom took this picture at the lake today. It was really nice there although there was a lot of other dogs. We walked far away from them since a lot of them were not on leashes. Later we went over to our old spot and Mom set me free to run.
It was quite cloudy most of the time we were there but now it has turned into a really nice day. Both Mom and Dad were out in the yard mowing and pulling weeds.
Soon they have to go to the airport to get Sis. She went to Wisconsin to visit both sets of Grandparents. Mom said she had a great time.
Hopefully she has remember to bring the cheese.

Can you see me?

I was sneaking again today, trying to hide on Mom. While Mom was walking around and I wandered off. I heard a fish jump so naturally I had to go check it out. I quickly ran down by the water but whatever it was had disappeared before I got there. Well since I was there I had to cool my feet forgetting all about Dad's new truck.. By the time we were ready to go I had dried out.

Lovely landscape

Isn't it lovely out here? I am just running around checking everything out. It is so much fun running through the woods and it is such a nice day to do it. Soon all the trees will have there leaves and no one will be able to see me doing this. Of course Mom can always hear me since I am not a very quiet dog..

I think I am hiding again

Hey look I am hiding on Mom again. She likes it when I play Waldo!! I can sneak around the problem is she always finds me. If she hides on me I run around like I am lost looking for her. Of course the first thing I do is run back to Dad just to make sure she some how hasn't snuck back to him. I don't know how many times Mom was able to hide on me. I like the little games Mom and I play..

The ducks are back

While at the lake on Sunday we saw these birds flying over. I guess the ducks are back so evidently Spring is not far away. There was ducks, ducks and more ducks. They just kept coming. I couldn't figure out what that noise was at first but I soon figured out what all the noise was. Aren't they beautiful?

Look what I see....

Here I am again watching all the people and the ducks play. You can't see but there are some people down the shore fishing. Mom wouldn't let me go play with them. I really don't know why they look like some really nice people playing with those long sticks. Throwing something into the water. I really could have fun chasing what ever they are throwing into the water. I could go swimming. Oh ya Dad has that new truck and I can't go swimming. Maybe some other day...

My New Ride

Check out my new ride / lake mobile. After Dad driving the same Lake Mobile for 17 years he finally has a styling ride!! I look really good sitting in this ride. I even got leather seats. Mom wouldn't let me get in the water today though. I don't think Dad was ready for me to break in the new mobile! He has promised to get something to cover my seat so I can again go swimming.

What is in there

I don't know what is in there but I sure would like to know. It smells funny. I sure hope there isn't any wild animals in there. Maybe a snake? I know Auntie Carrie loves snakes. I could take it home to her!!!
Well I checked it all out and I didn't find anything. Darn a dog could hope..

Where is Waldo, I mean me, Gus? Look for my pink tongue!! Dad thought this was a really great picture and he couldn't find me the first time he looked at this picture. If you click on the picture it will enlarge and you can really see me..
Notice the pretty flowers it is a sure sign that Spring is in the air....

I am tired of chasing that stick into and water so I have decided that I should just lay here and chew on it for a while.
Doesn't this look like fun? Laying in the soft grass and chewing on my stick. I know I enjoy it.

Look at what I found

Look at what I found in the woods. I do not know who put this here but I sure like exploring it. I could peek in the little hole and climb up on the top of it. Mom sure knows where to take me on such a beautiful day. I am still dreaming of this weekend... Spring is in the air...

See how fast I can run

Look at me go!! This is me in action. I run as fast as I can chasing any bird that gets in site.
Mom caught me on a dead run. Oh I wish I could run like this everyday at the Lake. I sure hope that next weekend is as nice as this weekend was so I can do it all over again..
I am dreaming of running and swimming....

Swimming at the Lake

Look at the fun I had yesterday at the Lake! Mom was tossing the stick into the Lake for me and I was retrieving it. Every time I would bring it back she would toss it in. She did have to find a second stick though, one just went to deep and I was to scared to go get it. I showed her though a few times it went quite deep and with a little coaxing from Mom I dove for it. Needless to say even my head got wet. That swimming really wore me out. I slept the entire afternoon...

Gus the watch dog

We had a beautiful day at the lake today. I enjoyed just sitting and watching Dad dig in the dirt. Of course I did all my exploring before hand. It was also a great day for a swim. But isn't this a beautiful view?
A huge flock of ducks flew in while I was doing my watching. They sure were enjoying their day also.

Lola Pearl

We got another picture of Lola Pearl today. Isn't she turning into a beautiful young lady. From what I can see she has mischief written all over her face. I sure would like to play with her. It also looks like they still have snow for us to play in.

Another friend

Heidi sent me another wonderful picture of Vempula. Isn't he a beautiful friend? Heidi has been babysitting them the last week but now she is sad because she has to give them back to his alpha's. She is not to sad though she doesn't live to far away so she still can go visit them whenever she feels the need.. Thanks Heidi we still miss you.........

beautiful day in Finland

Isn't this beautiful? My friend Heidi who moved back to Finland sent us this picture of her friend Vempula in the woods. They have such tall trees there. I sure would like to go visit her and play with Vempula and Heidi. The snow looks like it would be so much fun to play in. I also could think of one thing that a blue heeler would like to do to those trees. :0)

Sandy brought me a new toy

Look at the new toy that my friend Sandy brought me from Vancouver!! It was nice and clean when I got it but as you can see it didn't take me long to get it dirty and really slimmy.. I certainly thank her for it. I so enjoy chasing it around and shaking it.. Thanks again Sandy!!

Windy Saturday

Mom and Dad attempted to take me to the Lake on Saturday but as you can see it was really windy out there. There were white caps on the Lake. I didn't mind but both Mom and Dad thought it was very cold. After running for a short period of time we headed towards home. Dad did stop at a Tot Lot near the house though. He didn't find to much with his yellow stick but it was not quite as cold as the Lake..
Oh on the way Dad stopped at Starbucks and got Mom a latte. He always calls it a date when they do that.. he he

Christophers 3rd Birthday

Today was a special day for one of my friends. It was a party for Christopher's 3rd Birthday. Mom and Dad went to help Christopher celebrate his special day. His parents had a pinata for all the children to swing at. It took some time for all of them to have their turns. After all of the trying one of the older kids was able to get it to spill its reward.
Here you can see Christopher getting ready to blow out his candle so everyone can enjoy Grandma's homemade cake. (Mom said it was a beautiful cake)

Look another beautiful day

Look at the beautiful scenery that Mom managed to take a picture of at the lake. Of course this was on Saturday and although it was pretty windy the sun was shining and it was warm out. This is a picture looking out over the lake. I do not think that the water is quite warm enough for swimming yet but it sure is beautiful.. I feel Spring is in the air.
