Herminie and Cousin It

This is Herminie and Cousin It. They are sugar gliders they are also part of the family zoo. Louie and I have to go into our "houses" when Dad gets these 2 out. We also have 3 more but the don't get along with Hermie and It so they usually get to come out first and glide around. The others are called Magenta, Columbia and Francis. Yes Sis likes Rocky Horror Picture Show.

How can you tell these little guys apart? These two look identical from the picture.

What do they do when they come out? Where do they go? Could you chase them?

Don't they sort of fly? (Distant memories of Australian stuff here)

Australia and New Guinea is where the gliders are found in the wild. Some people refer to them as flying squirrels, they actual glide.

Interesting little pets but require a lot of attention, especially if you have only one, they are social animals and will die quickly of if left alone. Not a pet I would recommend to just anyone.

Dad gets them out every night, they crawl in his shirt, run around the couch and chairs

and now the best part

they leave little squirrels cookies for Louie and I to eat !!!

Melissa, each one has its own personality...... just like human identical twins, eventually one learns to tell them apart.
