Sheep Herding Saturday..

Louie, Look Mom put me in Jail!! Just kidding I am in the pen with the sheep...
Callie, Just resting after my turn with those sheep..
Gus, Now this is how you relax after herding!!!
Louie, I know there are sheep behind this tree...
Gus, Look I am a real sheep dog..
Gus, Mom thought this was a cool picture..
Louie, Hey I got them all..
Callie, What Mom? See how I can put my brakes on!!
Callie, I got them all Mom...
Mom here, I know we said we were done but we thought you all would enjoy some pictures of us herding. It has been really dry here in Texas as you can see from all the dust in the pictures.. The Red's did exceptional well today considering that they haven't been herding in over a month. Gus acted a little rusty. Him and that Mr. Ram were constantly trying to dual it out.. All in all we had a great day. Hopefully everyone will enjoy these. We will probably post again when we have something exciting to share..

More Herding...

Gus, here Mr. Ram come play with me..
Callie working her outrun... Girl your supposed to have your feet on the ground..
Louie heading off a run away... Go Louie go..
Gus is the official Mr. Ram herder these day. He appears to be the only pup that isn't afraid of the rams antics. He decided to try and head butt Gus once and Gus didn't back down since then Gus always gets the herd with that ram..

Saturday Herding

Gus, I got you Mr. Ram.. I don't want to hear any complaints out of you..
Gus, How is this Dad?
Louie, Ok Dad lets talk about this. I go one way and you go the other..
Louie wanting to see just how fast that sheep is... Keep your ears back for maximum wind resistance.
Callie just happy to be out here with the sheep..
Callie ready Mom open that gate! Time to see the girl work...
We had a great day herding today. Mom says that since we are all napping now. No zoomies left in us..

Tired pups...

Callie, can we go home now Mom? I am tired of herding. It is time for my napper..
Gus, I am such a proud pup after my run but I must agree I am a bit tired...
Louie, come on you 2 I am not tired. I want to herd some more sheep..
The Heeler's did nap the rest of the afternoon after we got home from herding. Guess herding makes the Heeler's really well behaved dogs..

More herding...

Gus, Are you watching Red's, this is the way you herd sheep..
Louie, Blueman I don't think I am doing to bad..
Callie, Hey boys look at me, I put them in the pen.. Mom quick shut the gate..
Kind of a boring day today. You all know this is the last week of the regular football season so Mom is being boring watching.. We are still a bit tired from all the running yesterday so we are content to lay next to her on the couch and snooze..

Herding Saturday...

Gus, Mr. Ram you better get a move on. I am right on your tail....
Louie, Dad I am really confused here, how do you get those sheep over there? They sure are some sneaky ones...
Callie doing her "donkey from Shrek routine" "pick me, pick me!" Callie seems to think that jumping is much more fun than chasing sheep at times. She was a bit wound up today. We did settle her down in our second run when Lori kept her on lead to keep her from just following Mom around.
We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. We had a great 2010 and we are so thankful for all our wonderful blogger friends.. Everyone be healthy and safe in the upcoming year..

Sheep Herding Saturday..

Gus, Look Mom at all the sheep I have. I got them all, no worries..
Callie, I will just stick by you Mom.. As you can see it was quite cold this am. Mom is all bundled up.. What is up with her doesn't she have her own fur coat like I do?
Louie, Mom I have the pretty white one.. She is a bit stubborn and doesn't want to stay with the herd but I will show her the right way..
Yes Mom is right it was a bit cold this am. Over cast and the wind was blowing. The weather man is saying even colder this afternoon with the lows in the 30's by tomorrow morning. Then on Sunday evening even colder with the 20's on Monday morning. Mom better get that fur coat ready...

A few more herding pictures..

Callie, Mom what are you saying. I am trying to read your lips.. Perhaps this sit isn't good enough? You want me to slow down? What is it?
Gus, Dad I am slowing down just like you said.. See I can do this...
Louie, Dad quit wagging that finger at me. I know what I am doing those sheep were trying to escape honest.. Now can we get back to work here?
Gus and Mom are off to Austin tomorrow to visit Uncle Bill and Jamie. Mom said I, the Blueman, can go along to keep her safe. We will turn the blog over to Dad for the next few days..

Help and scritches..

Callie, hey can I get a little help here? How am I supposed to herd sheep all tied up like this..
No worries everyone we did rescue Callie.. We in fact dropped the leash. She isn't much of a threat to those cute little sheep..
Louie, oh ya Dad that is the spot. More, more, more please...
Gus, Thanks Dad so much for taking us herding. We all had such a great time. We promise we will be good so we can come again real soon....
Mom has quite a few pictures of us herding so we sure hope no one is bored with them yet...

Sheep Herding Saturday!

Callie, let me at them Mom. I can do this...
Louie, I got this one Dad. You wait there and I will bring her to you...
Gus, Ok Mr. Ram you do not scare me one bit...
We had a very productive day herding today. Callie is learning to slow down a bit while working her out runs. She does have a tendency to stick to Mom like glue but zooms after the sheep when she thinks the time is right.
Louie did really good on his out run. Very slow and calm. He didn't scatter the sheep to much today... He enjoyed it every minute of this. He seemed to be smiling the entire time.
Gus, had a slight altercation with the Ram as you can see. Of course the Blueman came out ahead. Gus did awesome today. He looked like a real cattle dog bringing the sheep back when instructed to look back. He even managed to pen them out in the middle of the arena. We are so proud of all of them..
