Dutch Apple Pie bars. She actually got the recipe out of her
King Arthur's Flour cookbook but couldn't find it on the web site. This is an awesome site you need to check it out.. Lots of recipes. She found the recipe on a different site but it is almost the same.
Callie looking like she is up to something. I see those bars cooling there on the oven. Perhaps I need to jump up there for a taste?
Gus looking really innocent too.. I would never try and get those yummy smelling bars Mom. Honest!!
Louie, perhaps if I just look away she won't notice me checking out those bars.. She did drop an apple on the floor and I had to clean it up...

My Mom only uses King Arthur flour for her bread and bagel baking. It's a really cool site! Maybe she'll make me some cookies, but I'd sure like those apple pie bars!

Ha ha ha!!! You three are just so innocent aren't you?!!! From Mom: I'm laughing because when Sammie first came to us, there was a big getting-to-know-you time. One night, I steamed a large pot of broccoli for some chicken divan. I let it cool after draining and came back to find half of it gone! Called the vet (what did I know at the time?!) About a month later, (Sam is about 10 mos old at this point) I baked some gingerbread, which my hubby loves. After cooking, left it on the stove to cool. Returned to it about half an hour later and most of it was gone. I was just horrified and couldn't believe it. And after the G-L-O-V-E incident, I haven't trusted her in the least - over any little thing heheh! Thank goodness, she's still with us! So... we totally understand!

Yummmmm... apples! Gus here loves pieces of apples. If he is across the house, and hears me cutting an apple in half - watch out! Gus is on my feet, panting and drooling.
